Starting his career in shop-floor retail, John spent a number of years providing analytical support to a UK wide store base from Head Office before moving to One-2-One as his first experience of a telco. Spending 2 years here managing the customer communications for the expanding base he then moved across to the newly formed MM02 to manage all Pre-pay customer communications & analytics.
After spending a number of years developing customer experience journey’s and lifecycle programmes he used this experience to take on a more strategic role within the wider CRM team looking at new business capability.
Following an internal re-organisation he was then seconded across to the Group R+D Team in Madrid and ran a Spanish team building and deploying new Global analytical models, which, following a strategic business review established a Global BI team to drive Knowledge share and best practice across all TEF territories.
This has culminated recently in a more central role for BI and Big Data reporting into the main Telefonica SA board with a remit to drive customer monetisation and capability alignment across all the Latam and European operations in close conjunction with the local teams with a personal responsibility for Big Data and Transformational Analytics development and utilisation.
