Jim Anning

Jim Anning is head of Data and Analytics at British Gas Connected Homes. His team manage all aspects of data from Connected Homes’ products including Hive Active Heating and MyEnergy, analysing it to help improve services and developing machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms to give customers the best experience from connected products. Originally an electronics engineer, Jim has held a variety of technology and leadership roles, in the BBC; the Oil & Gas Industry; Educational Application Development; and Utilities. In 2009 he left the corporate world, going back to his roots in software and data to co-found a web startup, before joining Connected Homes in April 2013.
