Miranda Sharp created Ordnance Survey’s Smart Practice, setting new directions for Great Britain’s mapping agency. She heads a team which innovates with start-ups and collaborative projects using place-based insights to seize the golden opportunities now emerging from a ‘Smarter’ world. The learnings from these collaborations have the potential to create a new UK digital economy and a new role for its surveyors and cartographers. Originally a chemist, and with 10 years working in data businesses, Miranda is most enthused by what new technology will do to change business models and support better public services. Miranda is a recovering rugby player.
